There are lots of ways in which you can help the NAS to make a difference to the lives of families affected by Autistic Spectrum Disorders. The branch relies on the support of individuals, and we receive no funding from local or central government.
Our biggest need is for financial support to enable us to expand the work of the branch throughout Surrey. Please see here to find out about some of the things we do. The incidence of Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) has increased dramatically during the past decade. Recent estimates suggest that nearly 1 person in 100 has an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. That means that in Surrey there are around 9,000 people affected - many of them being adults who have not been diagnosed. The branch needs to expand in order to support more individuals and families, and we cannot do this without substantial financial support.
Donations from individuals and companies are particularly welcome. You can also help us by buying products from our Online Bookshop or from the companies we promote on our welcome page. These companies pay us a small commission on every product sold via our website.
But there are also some practical ways in which you can help the branch, especially if you live in Surrey. We always need more volunteers to help with branch activities.
If you are able to help in any way, please contact our Branch Officer Emma Whitfield.
